Submission History: By Bailie Phil Greene:- "This Council is unanimous in condemning the UK Government's decision to close the many Remploy factories throughout the UK and particulalry the Springburn factory. Forty-six employees who have a variety of disabilities many including ex-servicemen, are of the opinion that given the current financial climate the chances in them finding constructive employment is extremely limited. Council is requested to send a most strongly worded letter to Marie Miller, Work and Pensions Minister, requesting a delay in closure of the factories until all partners including the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council can fully examine all options with a view to safegaurding the positions of all the Springburn Remploy staff."
