Submission History: By Councillor Soryia Siddique:- "Council recognises the challenging financial constraints facing local government finance as a result of budget cuts and political decisions taken by the Scottish and UK Governments; notes that Glasgow's share of the Scottish Local Government settlement in 2015/16 has reduced to 12.81% from 13.91% in 2008/09, recognises that if the city's share had not been cut by the Scottish Government the 2015/16 budget would have included an extra £109 million; further notes the Scottish Government's record underspend of £444 million during a time of deep austerity and believes this money would be better invested in delivering high-quality public services; fully supports the efforts of the Council Leader to claw back Glasgow's share of the underspend so that it can be used to meaningfully tackle the root causes of poverty in the city and calls on all elected representatives to foster and promote a city-wide campaign to stand up for Glasgow and reclaim Glasgow's missing millions."
